Revs. Mike Rust and John Hagan officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Dustin Ray died on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., following a short illness.
Dustin Ray was born on November 1, 1992, in Hopkinsville. He was the son of Rhonda Faye Swatzell Fowler of Cadiz, and Jeffrey Ray Fowler of Gracey.
Dustin Ray was a member of the Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church; was a 7th grade student at Trigg County Middle School; and was a member of the Trigg County Baseball Team.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles “Rip” and Charlene Kelly Swatzell; maternal great-grandmother, Annie Kelly; paternal great-grandparents, Terry and Mallie Fowler; and paternal great-grandmother, Frances Sholar.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Jesse Lacy of Cadiz; half-brother, Scotty Jones of Hopkinsville; half-sister, Madison Skinner of Glasgow; and niece, Skylynn Grace Lacy of Cadiz.
Serving as pallbearers were Nick Watkins, A.J. Sholar, R.J. Sholar, T.J. Joiner, Todd Joiner, Devon Morris, Andrew Walker, Brian Wynn, Kevin Marlowe, Jamie Stewart, Matthew Linn, Anthony Isbill, Zack Lane, and Zack Brock.
