Funeral services for E.S. “King Bee” Lester, 72, of Linton were conducted on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Greg McNichols officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Boren Cemetery, Trigg Co.

Mr. Lester died on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. at his residence in Cadiz following a short illness.

Mr. Lester was born on Thursday, October 1, 1936, in Hampton, KY. He was the son of the late Harry Edward and Melba Vick Lester.

Mr. Lester was retired from the state highway department where he was assistant foreman. He was a member of the Linton United Methodist Church and was a member of the Linton Masonic Lodge #783.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Boren Lester, three brothers; Eddie Lester, Bill Lester and Elmo Lester.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Jeff and Jina Lester, of Cadiz, Jason and Tina Lester, of Cadiz, sister and brother in law, Gladys and Charles Fuqua, of Festus, MO, sister, Vickie Diel, of Paducah, two grandchildren, Morgan Lester and Dakota Littlejohn, and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Lester, Jason Lester, David Hill, Dwayne Hill, Kerry Underhill, Steven Ezell, Bobby Joyce and Ronnie Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Bill Hill, David Staples, Homer Dunkerson, Betty Boyd, S.W and Anita McNichols, Perry and Tammy Fourquean, Maurice Sweeney, Mike Underhill.

Becky Waldrup, vocalist and Faye Hainsworth, pianist provided the music.
