The Cadiz-Trigg County Economic Development Commission is planning an open house so that industry professtionals and others can see their new office at the Tourism Building on Interstate 24.

Sharon Butts, executive director of the Economic Development Commission, said the move has been good for them, as it gives her easier and quicker access to the industrial parks as well as the Career Solutions Center behind Cracker Barrel.

“Just being closer to the industrial parks makes it a positive move,” Butts said. “Now, if someone wants to see me or Bill (Stevens of the Tourism Commission) they won’t have to go across town.”

The Tourism Building also houses the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Commission and the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce and is located off of U.S. 68/Ky. 80 near the I-24 interchange.

Although an exact date for the open house hasn’t been set, it could be held at the end of this month or at the beginning of July, Butts said, adding that plan is to have a large sign on the front of the building identifying the three groups occupying the building.

Butts said the conference room is much larger at the new location than the EDC’s previous offices at City Hall, and it is more accessible as its on the ground floor.

Renovations to the building, which were approved by the Tourism Commission, were started late last year and finished in late February and early March.
