Funeral services for Earnest “Earnie” McCoy, 44, of Benton, formerly of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.

Rev. David Futrell officiated at the services. Burial followed in the House Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. McCoy died on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 3:40 p.m., at his residence.

Mr. McCoy was born on April 16, 1963, in Cadiz. He was the son of Mary Clark McCoy Speaks of Benton, and the late John Thomas McCoy, Sr.

Mr. McCoy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benton.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Speaks; and two brothers, Lonnie Ray McCoy and Charles Ray McCoy.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, includes his wife, Kellie Tabor McCoy of Benton; two sons, Newell McCoy and Nicholas McCoy, both of Benton; two daughters and son-in-law, Elisha and Jeremy Willoughby and Samantha McCoy, all of Benton; five brothers, Jimmy McCoy and Ronald Wade McCoy, both of Benton, John McCoy, Jr., of Cadiz, Homer McCoy of Murray, and William McCoy of Wake, Va.; two sisters, Barbara Jean Adams of Cadiz and Carolyn Holloway of Rawlins, Wyo.; and a grandchild, Riley Paul Willoughby.

Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Montgomery, Donald Shadrick, Ben McCoy, David Parker, Michael McCoy, Matthew McCoy, and John McCoy, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Nicholas McCoy, Newell McCoy, Ronald McCoy, Jeremy Willoughby, Jim McCoy, Rusty Tanner, and Kevin Shelton.
