Mr. Jungbert died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
Mr. Jungbert was a native of Louisville, who also had a residence in Cadiz.
Mr. Jungbert was owner and president of Jungbert Corp., and former chairman of the Kentucky Derby Festival in 1986. He was a member of the Downtown Lions Club, and the board of directors for the Better Business Bureau and the Southwest YMCA; was a former member of the Louisville Jaycees and the Jacyee Seniors. He had received numerous awards for his civic involvement; he was a graduate of Manual High School and had attended the University of Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine W. Jungbert; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Katherine and Richard Moquin; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward J. III and Denise Jungbert; two grandchildren, Ashlee Catherine Jungbert and Charles Jungbert; and two sisters, Carol Miller and Edna Parrott.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation or the WHAS Crusade for Children.
