Edward J. Polanec, 79, of Cadiz, formerly of Florida, died on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 9:05 a.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.

There were no services. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.

Mr. Polanec was born on February 28, 1927, in Lyndora, Penn. He was the son of the late Isodore and Catherine Bietch Polanec.

Mr. Polanec was retired as an Industrial Engineer from Anchor Hocking Glass in Jacksonville, Fla.; was a member of the Moose Lodge in Florida; was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in WWII; and was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Edward V. Polanec of Cadiz; a step son, Frankie F. Tucker of Texas; two step-daughters, Cheryl A. Tucker and Linda K. Tucker, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers; three sisters; five grandchildren, Michael Polanec, Jeffrey Polanec, Brittany Polanec, and Molly Walters, all of Cadiz, and Lindsey Broach of Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
