Funeral services for Edward Rogers, 95, of Bowling Green, formerly of Cadiz, were conducted on Monday, October 8, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Revs. James Shuck and Mike Holian officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mr. Rogers died on Friday, October 5, 2007, at 9:50 p.m., at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Bowling Green, of natural causes.

Mr. Rogers was born on December 1, 1911, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late James Edward and Lola Maude Thomas Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was retired from the Trigg County School System, where he worked in the cafeteria and was a bus driver; was a member of Dyers Chapel United Methodist Church in Trigg County; and was a member of the Thomas and Bridges Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy Elizabeth Rogers; a great-grandchild, Kara Gayle Eubanks; a brother, Ernest Rogers; a brother-in-law, Rumsey “Pete” Alexander; and a sister-in-law, Doris Skinner.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles T. and Nancy Rogers of Bowling Green; two grandsons and spouses, Tom and Stacey Rogers of Cadiz, and Rev. James Mark and Teresa Rogers of Bowling Green; a granddaughter and spouse, Carla and Farren Eubanks of McLean County; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Rogers, Andrea Rogers, Emily Rogers, Paige Rogers, Jessica Eubanks, Kyle Eubanks, and Dalton Eubanks; a sister-in-law, Virginia Alexander of Cadiz; a brother-in-law, W.C. Skinner of Cadiz; and three nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Ray Neely, Jim Wallace, Currie Barrow, Tom Rogers, Rev. James Mark Rogers, and Farren Eubanks.

Honorary pallbearers were great-grandchildren.

David Taylor, pianist, David Grout, vocalist, and Jo Whitmer, vocalist provided the music.
