Rev. Don Bunch officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Freeman Cemetery in Trigg County.
Mrs. Calhoun died on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at 8 a.m., at Princeton Health Care Manor of natural causes.
Mrs. Calhoun was born on July 14, 1916, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Orbie Jackson and Mattie Beatrice Wadlington Freeman.
Mrs. Calhoun was a homemaker; and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Odell Calhoun; a son, Lonnie Eugene “Buddy” Calhoun; a daughter, Wilma Marie Calhoun; six brothers, Thomas Freeman, Claude Freeman, Walter Freeman, Orbie Wade Freeman, James Rudolph Freeman, and Raymond Wadlington Freeman; and two sisters, Myrtle Robey and Etta Marie Humphries.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Orbie Dell and Judy Calhoun of Hopkinsville, Ralph and Wanda Calhoun and Ernest “E.J.” and Lisa Calhoun, all of Cadiz; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and James Boddy, and Ruth and Wilford Herndon, all of Cadiz; a daughter-in-law, Mary Calhoun of Cadiz; a foster sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Bob Leatham of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Ethel “Tete” Freeman of Princeton; 18 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Clell Calhoun, Kevin Calhoun, Roger Calhoun, Tony Calhoun, J.T. Boddy, J.R. Boddy, Ray Aquino, Adam Calhoun, and Lonnie Calhoun, Jr.
Becky Freeman, vocalist, and Barbara Jean Futrell, pianist provided the music.
