Funeral services for Ernestine M. Oakley, 87, of Cadiz, were conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at 2 p.m., at King’s Funeral Home.

Rev. Dr. Tom Martin officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Oakley died on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 3 p.m., at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich., of natural causes.

Mrs. Oakley was born on February 6, 1921, in Cadiz. She was the daughter of the late Ivan and Lula Jackson Meador.

Mrs. Oakley was a retired salesperson from Sears & Roebuck; was a member of the Thomas Bridges Association; and was of the Methodist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Conley Oakley.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Robin Oakley of Cadiz, William Paul and Kathleen Oakley of Gibraltar, Mich., and Owen Timothy and Donna Oakley of Richmond, Mich.; three grandchildren, Bryan Oakley and Collin Oakley, both of Lexington, and Brietta Oakley of Norwood, Ohio.

Clarissa King, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Bailey Oliver, Bryan Oakley, Collin Oakley, Andy Thomas, Kenneth Oakley, Don Oakley, Tim Oakley, and Paul Oakley.
