Dr. Ron Wells and Bro. Dennis Glenn officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Jenkins died on Friday, October 27, 2006, in the Harborside Health Care in Bowling Green.
Mr. Jenkins was born on September 28, 1918, in Quality, Ky. He was the son of the late Allie and Belle Porter Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church; was a World War II Army Veteran, where he was a participant of the D-Day Invasion, Normandy Beaches; was a lifetime member of the V.F.W; and was employed with Caterpillar Tractor, where he was a production worker.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jenkins; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Barry Gibbs of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Newman D. Jenkins of East Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Lorene Ducey of Monticello, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Erin Dickson, Laurel Larson and husband Jens, and Melissa Belcher.
Serving as pallbearers were Wendell Woodall, Bob Boren, Bobby Woodall, Frank Davis, George Duncan, and Henry Woodall.
