Funeral services for Esteen Baggett, 79, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Clarence Terry officiated at the services. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Evansville, IN.

Mrs. Baggett died on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 1:20 p.m. at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, of natural causes.

Mrs. Baggett was born on Monday, December 23, 1929, in Muhlenberg, Co. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Beulah Scott Slinker.

Mrs. Baggett had worked for Bee Line Clothing and Vandervere Dodge in Evansville, IN, and she provided individual housekeeping and was a personal sitter. She owned Baggett’s Ceramic Shop. She retired from Lake Barkley State Resort Park where she worked in housekeeping and the front desk at the fitness center. She was of the Methodist Faith. She was a KY Col.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clinton Baggett, one grandson, Dennis Baggett, one sister, Martha Hughes, two brothers, Luther Slinker Baggett, and Wallace Slinker.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry C. and Marilyn Baggett, of Cadiz, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Leon and Delores Slinker, S. Carrollton, KY, Ray and Sarah Slinker, S. Carrollton, KY, four grandchildren, Kim Baggett and Michael Steen, of Cadiz, Larry A. and Sonia Baggett, Clarksville, TN, five great grandchildren, Elizabeth Saupe, Christopher Baggett, Cor’Devin Baggett, Cosette Roberts, Cassie Roberts, and one great great grandchild, Brooklyn Vernon and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Rick Atwell, Codie Atwell, Mark Atwell, Michael Steen, Paul Vetzel, and Matt Hammonds.

Larossa Williams, vocalist provided the music.
