Revs. David Ray Futrell, Paul Cannon, and Olen Ray Thomas officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Mrs. Sumner died on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at 9:10 p.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.
Mrs. Sumner was born on April 20, 1918, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Taylor and Myrtle Chewning Thomas.
Mrs. Sumner was a homemaker, and a member of Donaldson Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Jesse Sumner, and four sons, Delane Sumner, Billy Wayne Sumner, David Sumner, and Jerry Sumner preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Jimmie Guier of Hopkinsville, Trudy and Woody Littlejohn, Judy and Randy Bridges, and Vanessa and Don Pate, all of Cadiz; three brothers, Hershell Thomas of Cadiz, Fred Thomas, of Milton, Fla., and Olen Ray Thomas of Mayfield; three sisters, Ruth Meador of Cadiz, Thelma King of Blacksburg, Va., and Lottie Mae Mayche of Franklin, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Terry Sumner, Jason Sumner, Michael Vick, Charlie Collier, David Littlejohn, and Jesse Pate.
Shari Littlejohn, vocalist, and Beth Taylor, pianist provided the music.
