Fall bass classic planned for September

The Hopkins County Bass Club (KY) will be holding its 12th Annual Fall Bass Classic tournament at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, Kentucky Lake, on Saturday, Sept. 18th. The $75 (cash only the day of the tourney) entry fee will be collected starting at 4:45 a.m..

There will be a meeting on the water at 6:00 a.m., and take off will be at 6:15 a.m. or safe light. Tournament will end at 3 p.m. for the first flight.

Guaranteed first place will be $3000 minimum, and the top 10 places will be paid over 100 percent of the anglers' entry fees. Big Bass winners will received 60 percent for first place and 40 percent for second place (the $10 big bass pot is included in the $75 entry fee).

If you are including your entry fee check to guarantee an early boat number, a stamped self addressed envelope for boat number confirmation would be appreciated.

All proceeds from the event go the club's charitable activities in the Western Kentucky area. The club has fed hundreds of families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, provided a complete Christmas (except for the tree) for almost 50 families (including a Santa), and donated to community members in times of crisis or emergency need.

The Hopkins County BASS Club is a member of the Kentucky Bass Federation and been in existence for over 30 years. Current membership stands at 31 anglers.

This is the club’s only fund raising event each year.
