Rev. Shoney Oliver officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
Mrs. Guier died on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at 6:35 a.m., at the Union City Manor in Union City, Tenn., of natural causes.
Mrs. Guier was born on December 18, 1918, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Alvie Harrison and Modie P. Dixon Thomas.
Mrs. Guier was retired from Flynn Manufacturing with 30 years of service, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Guier; two brothers, Ira Thomas and Andrew Harrison Thomas; a sister, Nella Mae Mize; and a great-grandchild, Gabriel Cabrera.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Rita Guier of Hopkinsville; two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Steve Connell of Union City, Tenn., and Kaye Schulmerich and Bill Brynjolfsson of Springville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Carla Ball, Jeffrey Schulmerich, Russell Guier, Kimberly Cabrera, Jodie Hale, Carla Schmitt, Keith Connell, and Kurtis Connell; eight great-grandchildren, Casey Schulmerich, Lynda Marie Schulmerich, Morgan Ball, Elana Hale, Hunter Kathrin Hale, Sean Cabrera, Cameron Cabrera, and Haydon Schmitt.
Shari Littlejohn, vocalist, provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Schulmerich, Russell Guier, Morgan Ball, Keith Connell, Kurtis Connell, and Robert Cabrera.
