The state Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed the residence of Brandon and Kelly Fowler last Wednesday night, said East Golden Pond Fire Chief Ronnie Gray.

More than 30 firefighters from East Golden Pond, Cadiz and Montgomery Fire Departments were on the scene from shortly after 5 p.m. until shortly before 12 midnight, and most of the home was destroyed by the fire, Gray said.

Although a small portion was left standing, the building is unlivable, and the state’s Fire Marshall’s Office has been called to conduct a routine investigation of the fire, said Gray.

Brandon Fowler, the homeowner, was treated for smoke inhalation by the Trigg County Emergency Medical Service members that responded to the fire, but no other injuries were reported as a result of the fire, Gray said.
