For many students and recent graduates, summer leaves no time for vacation when they accept an internship. For 4H Club Intern and Western Kentucky University graduate and former Trigg County resident David Littlejohn, his internship with 4H Director Janeen Tramble is a homecoming.

“I saw that 4H had an internship program and would like to have a career as a 4H agent somewhere in the state. This internship have me a chance to work at home with a great group of kids,” said Littlejohn.

Littlejohn said that with his studies, he has not had a chance to spend time at home in four years. At college, he majored in Recreation Administration. “I’ve been involved in 4H since the fourth grade and have worked as a camp councilor with 4H camp.”

As Tramble’s intern, Littlejohn said, “I follow Janeen around and help with programs, go to several conferences and assist with the state fair. I’ll work out at the camp when Trigg County goes, and do projects with Extension Agent David Fourqurean to get some hands on experience.”

Littlejohn said that he was excited to return to Trigg County to see his parents Trudy and Woody. “I still have a lot of friends in school, but a lot are back in Cadiz. It’s a small reunion for a lot of us, but I do miss some things from college.”
