Funeral services for Frances Scott, 90, of Caldwell County, formerly of Trigg County, were conducted on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 2:30 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. J. Bill Jones officiated at the services. Burial followed in White Sulphur Cemetery.

Mrs. Scott died on Monday, September 22, 2008, at 10:50 p.m., at Caldwell County Hospital following a short illness.

Mrs. Scott was born on June 23, 1918, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Shelton Mills.

Mrs. Scott was the owner/operator of Scott Farms and a member of White Sulphur Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie David “Pete” Scott, Sr.; a son, Archie David Scott, Jr.; two grandsons, Sammy Werstein and Curtis Scott; two brothers, Robert Mills and Johnny Mills; and two sisters, Dessie Calhoun and Lola Dillard.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Scott of Princeton and Frank Scott of Galesburg, Ill.; two daughters, Freida Ellis-Evans of Newport News, Va., and Faye Werstein of Caldwell County; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Johnson of Kuttawa; a sister-in-law, Sarah P’Pool of Cadiz; and several nieces and nephews.
