Rev. Leslie Joyce officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Eddy Creek Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas died on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 3 a.m. at her home after a short illness.
Mrs. Thomas was born on June 22, 1924 in Caldwell Co. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Rogers Hawkins.
Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eddy Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, D.Y. Thomas.
Survivors include, one son, George Thomas, Caldwell Co., one daughter, Yvonne Robertson, Crestwood, Ky., six grandchildren, Sandra Robertson, Curt Robertson, Steve Robertson, Susan Sanford, Brock Thomas, Lynn Byarly and one sister, Sue Mathis, Cadiz.
