Funeral services for George Eugene Powell, 65, of Princeton, were conducted on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Revs. Paul Johnson and Don Pippin officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Mr. Powell died on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 1:03 p.m., at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville of natural causes.

Mr. Powell was born on February 22, 1941, in Hopkinsville. He was the son of the late Marion and Hattie Crowe Powell.

Mr. Powell was a member of the Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Roberts and Maggie Harris; and four brothers, Delbert Powell, William Powell, Thomas Henry Powell, and Ernie Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Martha Johnson Powell of Princeton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Crystal Powell of Cerulean, and Eugene Powell and William and Chassie Powell, all of Princeton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Tony Nelson of Hanson, Patricia and Tim Carty of Earlington, and Terresa Henry Vickery of Princeton; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Pearl Powell of Decator, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were David Pendley, Matthew Pendley, Tim Carty, Austin Britt, William Powell, and Ricky McGregor..
