Funeral services for Gerald “Jerry” Sumner, 41, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Wayne Glass officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Bristo Lancaster Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Sumner died on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 3:40 a.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.

Mr. Sumner was born on May 8, 1964, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Lacy Davenport and Marceline Moore Sumner.

Mr. Sumner was employed by Trane Co. in Clarksville, Tenn.; and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Sumner.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Allen Sumner and Betty Perry, both from Trigg County; aunt and uncle, Carl and Sandra Pool; niece, Amanda Sumner; nephew and wife, Ricky and Leanna Perry; great niece, Shyanne Perry; two step-daughters, Krystal Brewington and Kayla Kirkman, both of Oak Grove; and step grandson, Gabriel Brewington.

Ray Wyatt, vocalist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Mark Pool, Michael Pool, Ricky Perry, Steven Ezell, Mike Sieg, Stuart Harrell, Carl Ray Sumner, and Darrell Sumner.
