Funeral services for Gerald Byron Shaw, 70, of Clarksville, TN, formally of Cadiz, were conducted on Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at King’s Funeral Home.

Rev. Earl Grace officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Land Between The Lakes with Military Rites.

Mr. Shaw died on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at 10 p.m. at the Montgomery Care and Rehab in Clarksville, Tennessee, after a short illness.

Mr. Shaw was born on March 16, 1937, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Wiley Sanford Jones, and Crystal Evaline Shaw.

Mr. Shaw did construction work as a Heavy Equipment Operator, he was a 50 year member of the Woodmen of the World, US Air Force Veteran. He was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Shaw, one brother, Ira Shaw, and one sister, Barbara Hadden.

Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Rickey and Henrietta Shaw, Cedar Creek TX, one daughter and son in law, Robin and Michael Cooper, Columbia, TN, two brothers, Morris Ray Shaw, Hartsburg, MO, Ronnie Joe Shaw, Evansville, IN, and one sister Muriel Williams, Prescott, AZ, three grandchildren, Nathan Cooper, Columbia, TN, Zachary Shaw, Hopkinsville, Thomas Shaw, Cedar Creek, TX, special nephew, Ricky Hadden, Clarksville, TN, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Charles Richardson, Jeremy Richardson, Richard Hadden, Jacob Allen, Tim Brown, Tommy Sasko, and Tommy Sasko, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Rexie Smith, Don Cannon, Layton Bridges, Bobby Johnson, Joe Bridges, Junior Fowler, Norris Mitchell, Dough Oliver, and Montgomery Care and Rehab.

Clarissa King, Pianist and Joe Bridges, Soloist, provided the music.
