The Trigg County volleyball team got passed the .500 mark for the first time this season by beating Livingston Central on Thursday August 16 2-0 (25-16, 25-17). Trigg is now 2-1 on the season. It was their first district win this season.

Molly Thompson did her best to send Livingston Central home all by herself. She served eight straight points in the first match and came close to matching the feat in the second match when she served seven straight points. Thompson finished the game with three kills and seven aces.

Trigg County seemed to be the better team from the very beginning by handling volleys and setting up their front court as good as they have all season. After last weeks heartbreaking 25-22, 25-18 loss at Henderson County, the girls were determined to never get complacent and put away their opponent in nearly blowout fashion.

Head coach Rick Erickson has said that complacency is trait the team needs to forget and seemed very pleased with the girl’s effort on the court on Thursday.
