Funeral services for Gladys Norine Childress, 84, of Princeton, were conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. Johnnie Davis, assisted by Rev. Jason Randall, officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Childress died on Monday, December 18, 2006, at 5 a.m., at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah following a long illness.

Mrs. Childress was born on May 30, 1922, in Caldwell County. She was the daughter of the late Firm and Rettie Gray Oliver.

Mrs. Childress was a homemaker, and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyon County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erve H. Childress; a daughter, Bonnie Dalton; and a granddaughter, Holly Childress.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Childress and Jeff Childress, all of Caldwell County; two daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Rod Thorpe of Eddyville, and Connie Bartee of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
