Gladys Christian Ripley 81, of Cadiz, formerly of Grass Valley, California died at 4:265 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at her residence after a short illness.

There will be no services. The body was cremated. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ripley was born November 6, 1928 in Calumet, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late George Saulsbury and the late Hattie Crothers Blair.

Mrs. Ripley was Owner and Operator of the Pine Cone Café, Grass Valley, Cal. She was a volunteer for the Food Bank and Hospice in California.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Ripley, and one son David R. Ripley.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tom Scully, Cadiz, one brother, Frank Massey, California, one sister, Georgia Cox, California, one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Shawn and Amy Scully, Nashville, Tenn., one grandson, Benjamin Ripley, Grass Valley, Cal., one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Misty and Shawn Farley, Grass Valley, Cal., three great grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah Scully, Nashville, Tenn., Shawn D. Farley, Grass Valley, Cal., and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice, Inc. 220 Burley Avenue Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
