Although the Janice Mason Art Museum’s performing arts group was planning to produce a production of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” next month, the show has been delayed until at least next year.

Director Portia Ezell said that the cast is lacking two lead male actors and three more supporting roles as well. The entire cast calls for 17 males and 7 females. She said that about 40 people tried out for the show, but many of them were too young to fit into the cast. She said that everyone who tried out was wonderful, but that without the two leads, the show couldn’t go on. She said that it wouldn’t be until next year because she didn’t want to try to have rehearsals so close to Christmas.

“We just decided to put it on hold until we can find a few good men,” she said.
