Harold W. Witty, 86, of Cerulean, died at 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes. Ser-vices were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Rev. Reed Shepherd and Carl Heckman officiating. Burial followed at Cerulean Cemetery in Cerulean.

Witty was born Wednesday, Aug. 29, 1923, in Cerulean to Roy Albert and Ruth Vernon (Wood) Witty, both deceased.

Witty was a member of Cerulean Baptist Church, and was also a member of the Cerulean Masonic Lodge #875, where he was a 50-year member. He was a retired civil service employee with 34 years of service.

Witty was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Dorothy (Perry) Witty, his son Bruce Perry Witty, who died in infancy, and his brothers J.W. and Roy Vernon Witty.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law Jay and Pam Witty of Cerulean, his daughter Vicki (Witty) Stroud of Cerulean, his daughter Jackie (Witty) Everett of Hopkinsville, and his grandchildren Leslie and David Paul Bridges, Heather and Grant Shouse, Keenan Stroud, Cal and Tania Everett, and Ashlee Everett.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Bridget and Alan Ray Skinner, Colten Bridges, Nick Watkins, Summer Shouse, Noah Shouse, Shelby Shouse, Savannah Shouse, Jenna Stroud, Callee Everett, Emerald Stroud and Baby Boy Everett, as well as his great great grandchild Dillon Ray Skinner.
