Information for the health inspection reports comes from the Trigg County Health Department or the Pennyrile District Health Department.

Christy Courtney of the Trigg County Health Department said that a score of 100 is great, a score in the 90s is decent – good as long as there are no critical violations, and a score of 85 or less with critical violations requires a follow-up inspection.

Restaurants and other business that serve food can increase their scores by correcting critical violations while the inspector is present. If the score on a follow-up inspection is not 85 or more then the restaurant owners could be required to take a ServSafe course.

If the score is less than 70, the health department will inform the restaurant owner that it intends to suspend their license, although it can suspend that permit immediately if health department workers think the restaurant poses an “imminent public health hazard,” or if the score is less than 60, according to the Kentucky food code.
