The Rev. Kenny Rogers officiated at the services. Burial followed at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Mrs. Futrell died of natural causes at 10:58 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at her son’s residence in Cadiz.
Mrs. Futrell was born Wednesday, January 1, 1919, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Henry Hayes and Effie Jane Cunningham Herndon.
Mrs. Futrell was a homemaker and former co-owner of the Linton Market in Linton. She was a member of Linton United Methodist Church and the Linton Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos C. Futrell; six brothers, Joe Hoy Herndon, Glenn Wood Herndon, Gordon Eugene Herndon, Howard Taylor Herndon, Wallace Haydon Herndon and Norris Hallie Herndon; one sister, Evelyn Earl New.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Norris and Barbara Jean Futrell of Cadiz and Jerry and Janie Futrell of Livermore; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Joyce and Danny Guess of Paducah and Lisa and Randy Atkins of Dover; grandchildren Mitzi and Greg McNichols, Stacy and Janay Futrell, Kenneth and Lee Ann Futrell, Erica Futrell, Rachel and Ryan Yates, Jonathan and Katye Guess and Lucas Atkins; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Fred New, Ralph New, Rodney Herndon, Bennie Conger, Don Dawson and Todd Ladd.
Stacy and Janay Futrell, Jody Terrell, Rachel Yates and Jonathan Guess, vocalists, and Rachel Yates, pianist, provided the music.
