Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Follis died on Sunday, November 9, 2008, at 11:39 a.m., at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.
Mr. Follis was born on March 20, 1947, in Jerseyville, Ill. He was the son of the late Hubert and Bertha Retzer Follis.
Mr. Follis was retired from the Corp of Engineers; was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served in Vietnam; was a member of the American Legion Post 74, where he served as Post Commander; was a member of the VFW Post #1913, and Marine Corp League #1150; was a member of the Pennyrile Area Honor Guard, where he provided Military Honors at more than 325 Funeral Services during the past four years; and he was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Henninger Follis of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Amici Follis of Peoria, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Mike Bunch of Peoria, Ill.; four grandchildren, Katelyn Bunch, Lauren Follis, Megan Bunch, and Jocelyn Follis; seven brothers, Joseph Follis and Andy Follis, both of Mt. Sterling, Ill., Dan Follis of Woodson, Ill., Jeff Follis of Bluffs, Ill. Greg Follis of Jacksonville, Ill.; David Follis and Richard Follis, both of Fishhook, Ill.; and a sister, Veronica Follis of Peoria, Ill.
Pam Witty, pianist, will provide the music.
