Rev. Greg Giltner officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Stewart died on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at 2:50 a.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
Mr. Stewart was born on April 17, 1927, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Cecil Darwin and Carrie Belle Burgess Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was a retired LPN from Western State Hospital; a member of the Buffalo Lick Baptist Church; and a member of the KSALPN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Marie Stewart; daughter, Barbi Stewart; and grandchild, Eddie Whitlow.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sonya Dillingham and Ron and Amelia Stewart, all of Hopkinsville, and Steve and Pat Stewart of Lawrenceburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Chuck Whitlow of Lexington, Darlene and Stephen Fryar of Hopkinsville, and Penny and Paul Miller of Cadiz; sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Ed East of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren, Bill Whitlow and Suzanne Whitlow of Lexington, Ashton Stewart, Rachel Major, Meghann Fryar and Logan Fryar, all of Hopkinsville, and Benton Miller and Braden Miller, both of Cadiz.
Clarissa King, pianist, provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were Ted Martin, Bryan Husemann, Richard Lancaster, Bill Whitlow, Michael Ray Stewart, Keith Cox, and Jeff Cravens.
