Happy Holidays gentile readers! I hope each and every one of you had a Merry Christmas! If that statement is politically incorrect, well I am going to have to be politically incorrect. I can’t imagine living somewhere where stores are afraid someone will be offended with “Merry Christmas” or anything that has the Lord’s name in it. “Tough it out” is all I got to say. I thought our forefathers fought for us to say the stuff we believe in. I think I remember a teacher telling us something about one of our founding fathers saying “I don’t agree with what you say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it”. I certainly don’t get upset when someone says Happy Hanukah. One of my favorite stores in the whole country, B and H photo in New York City, closes on Friday and reopens Saturday night and also for all of the Jewish holidays. No internet orders either. It is owned by Hasidic Jews. The store handles everything known to man in the way of photography equipment. I could buy many things a little cheaper somewhere else I guess and I really wish they shipped on Friday and Saturday when I’m in a hurry, but I respect them and their religion and wouldn’t buy anywhere else. Happy Hanukah B and H. Of course Hasidic Jews wear the black hats and beards and have long pig tails which brings me to something else, my “by line” picture last week.

A few weeks ago I told the story of my daughter putting up a picture of me with my hair done up in “dog ears” or “puppy dog tails” on a web site and having people comment on it. I thought it was a pretty funny piece and laughed out loud when I wrote it (yes, I laugh at this stuff myself folks). When the next Cadiz Record came out my son busted up laughing asking if I had seen my article. “I wrote it son”. “Well you might want to look at your new picture”. And there is was. The hair picture. My heart sank. It was like those dreams where you are in a public place and realize you’re in your underwear. All I could hear was my family laughing hysterically and the room was spinning. I sat down and took another look. It was kind of funny, I thought. Actually it was real funny. So, my hat’s off to all those involved, you got me.
