Shoppers won’t be the only busy individuals in Cadiz during the month of December. Basketball fans, officials, coaches and players will also be busy. The Trigg County High School boys’ basketball program will host a holiday tournament feature teams from numerous area counties. Trigg County will host the Kentucky Machine & Engineering Christmas Classic Saturday, Dec. 20-Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Fulton County, LaRue County, Butler County, Logan County, Dawson Springs and McLean County are scheduled to join Trigg County in the Kentucky Machine & Engineering Christmas Classic. Full pairings of the tournament will be published in a future edition of The Cadiz Record.

After participating in its own tournament pre-Christmas, Trigg County will venture to Marion County, Ill., to play in the Marion Holiday Classic. The Illinois tournament will pit the Wildcats against top notch teams from more than one state.

The Wildcats recently returned to the hardwood for the start of practice. Trigg County will host Fulton City in its regular-season opener Dec. 2. The Wildcats have have additional early-December home games scheduled versus Livingston Central (Dec. 5), Union County (Dec. 6) and Crittenden County (Dec. 12).

Davidson Academy, Tenn. is the lone non-tournament regular-season opponent on the Trigg County boys’ basketball team’s 2008-09 schedule. Trigg County is slated to host Davidson Academy Jan. 27, 2009.
