Funeral services for Homer Wilson, 81, of Cadiz were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Hagan officiated at the services. Burial followed at Jones Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Wilson died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009 at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz of natural causes.

Mr. Wilson was born on Sunday, November 27, 1927 in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Howard and Bertha Aldridge Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was owner and operator of Wilson’s Market for several years. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nella Sholar Wilson of Cadiz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Jean Wilson of Cadiz, Lynn and Jodi Wilson of Cadiz; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and John Bridges of Cadiz; one sister, Louise Lawrence of Cadiz; six grandchildren, Chase Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Lanny Holman, Natalie Dixon, Mandy Henderson and Michelle Calhoun; six great-grandchildren and several step- grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Chase Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Lanny Holman, Vince Dixon, Brandon Calhoun and Bill Dockery.
