Tilley is a graduate of UK and mentioned the loss to the defending national champions several times.
“I hope this is somewhat therapeutic in maybe getting your mind of [loss],” Tilley said,
However, the issue of the hour was his announcement to run against Carr in the general election, if no other Democrats file for candidacy. If another Democrat files, Tilley would be forced to participate in the May 2006 primary election.
In his hour-long town hall type of meeting, Tilley pledged to spend the next few months getting to know the constituents of Trigg County and the issues that are important to them.
He said he would not be developing a platform this early, however highlighted major areas that he would be keeping in mind during his campaign including healthcare, education and industry.
