More than a month after the Hopkinsville branch of the Bank of Cadiz was robbed on May 25, before 10 A.M., the Hopkinsville Police Department has not apprehended any suspects and is turning to the public for information.

“Detective Inman of our department has exhausted all attempts to find out who is responsible for this robbery. We are making this the Crime Stopper’s Crime of the week,” said Officer Paul Ray of the Hopkinsville Police.

The Crime Stoppers program asks citizens to offer tips on unsolved crimes. It offers a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, and allows the public to report anonymously. The Hopkinsville Crime Stoppers phone number is (270)887-TIPS.

Officer Ray sent The Cadiz Record the latest description of the suspect. The flyer said, “The suspect is described as a black male between 30 and 40 years of age, standing six-feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing khaki pants, a blue windbreaker jacket with white trim and a khaki baseball cap. After receiving the money from the teller, the robber fled from the bank on foot, across Fort Campbell Boulevard and was last seen running behind Key Cleaners.”

Police claim the robber entered the bank and demanded money with a written note. The note claimed the robber was armed with a gun, though never brandished one openly. “We believe he may have robbed other banks on the same day, and within the same week,” Ray said.
