During the official groundbreaking on Friday afternoon, Trigg County Judge Executive Hollis Alexander, TCH CEO Alisa Coleman, Hospital Board Chairman Mike Gross and Hospital Board Vice Chairman Jesse Thomas spoke.
“I can only imagine the original day, when the hospital was first constructed. It was actually April 22, 1952, when the hospital first opened its doors,” said Coleman. She said that on that day, then-Governor Lawrence Wetherby said, “There are larger hospitals in the world, but none more effective or beautiful.”
Two years ago, the process was started, and now the hospital has a $7 million loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the project, Gross said.
