That was almost three times the amount of people who showed up for the first health fair last year, said Jody Brewer of Trigg County Hospital, who partly attributed the greater participation this year to better and more local advertising.
The fair was held for youths ages 5 – 18, who could receive dental screenings, vision screenings, hand washings, fitness testings and child ID fingerprintings, and school supplies were given out, Brewer said.
“We’re really thrilled to have this kind of participation,” Brewer said at the health fair.
There were also door prizes and giveaways awarded, and the events were all free for the students, according to Brewer. A few children also played games such as cornhole.
