Howard Lee Newcomb, 75, of Cadiz, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at 9:50 a.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 1, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz, with Bro. Barry Hix providing a Eulogy.

Burial was at Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton, Ill.

Mr. Newcomb was born on March 20, 1931, in Wingo, Ky. He was the son of the late Noah C. and Velma Lee Harris Newcomb.

Mr. Newcomb was a retired Conductor of the Chicago Northwestern Rail following 34 years of service, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Steed; and two brothers, Billy Ray Newcomb and James E. Newcomb.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Wisk Newcomb of Cadiz; a son, Brian Newcomb of Spring Grove, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Velma and Jesse Hargrove of Cadiz; two sisters and brother-in-law, Johnnie Lou and Harvey Summers of Springfield, Mo., and Joanna Newcomb of Ozark, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Verna Newcomb of Pembroke; seven grandchildren, Michelene Underhill, Erin Brough, Shannon Brough, Danielle Brough, Megan Hargrove, Monica Kornfiend, and Korinne Junge; and five great-grandchildren, Makenna Underhill, Alexa Taylor, Haley Kornfiend, Allison Junge, and Ryan Junge.
