Hunter and Green married in June

Amanda Grace Hunter and Jason Lee Green were married on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 6 p.m. at the Donaldson Creek Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Marty and Pat Hunter. She is the granddaughter of Billy “Butch” and Polly Thomas and the late Ora Mae Hunter and Robert Hunter all of Cadiz. She is the great granddaughter of Jesse and Lila Oakley of Murray, KY.

The bridegroom is the son of Lee and Judy Green of Central City, KY. He is the grandson of Anna Bizzle of South Fulton, KY and the late Lewis Bizzle and the late Floyd and Katherine Green.

The Ceremony: Rev. Denny Francis officiated the ceremony. Jody Terrell, Pianist and Soloist and Ronnie Cornelius, Oboist provided nuptial music. Selections included, “The Wedding Song”, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, The Flame is Joined”, and “Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome”.

The Rev. Bobby McIntosh assisted in the “Cord of Three Strands” service. Ashley Sumner of Louisville, KY kept the guest register. Amanda Fowler, of Cadiz, KY, distributed program fans.

The Bride: The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride chose Nancy Beth Carey, Frankfort, KY to be her Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Heady and Sara Wilson both of Louisville, KY and Andrea Carrico of Bardstown, KY. Junior bridesmaids were Haley Thomas and Taylor Butts, Cadiz, KY both cousins of the bride. Flower girls were Avery Harper, Cadiz, KY, cousin of the bride and Katherine Newman of Lexington, KY.

The Bridegroom: The bridegroom chose Brady Williams, Lexington, KY to be his best man. Groomsmen were Matt Carey, Frankfort, KY, Jody Henderson, Leitchfield, KY and Josh Powell, Central City, KY. Junior groomsmen were Corbin Bird and Stuart Hahn both of West Chester, PA, both cousins of the groom. Ushers were Logan Hunter, brother of the bride, J.P. Sweatt, Central City, Kyle Davenport, Lexington, KY and Michael Vincent, Bowling Green, KY. Ring bearers were Phillip Pellegrino, Bradenton, FL and John Austin Shofner, Nashville, TN, both cousins of the bride.

The Reception: The bride’s parents served as hosts of an outdoor reception and dance at their home. Serving as coordinator for the reception was Kay Francis, aunt of the bride. Assisting at the reception was Missy Thomas and Barbara Jones, both of Cadiz, Melanie Atwill, of Fulton, KY, Kathy Bird, West Chester, PA, Karen Ryan, Memphis, TN, Kim Scherer, of Danville, CA. A fireworks celebration followed the reception.

Following a trip to St. Petersburg, FL, the couple will reside in Lawrenceburg, KY. The bride is employed by Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Lexington and the groom is employed by Public Service Commission in Frankfort.

Prenuptial events: A bridal reception was hosted by Sharon Thomas, Missy Thomas and Kathy Karper at the Donaldson Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall. A couples cookout was hosted by Matt and Nancy Beth Carey at their home in Frankfort, KY, A bridal reception was given by the ladies at the First United Methodist Church in Central City. A Southern Supper party was hosted by Jeanie and Stuart Bohne, Jane and Gary Givens, Trish and Rand Frederiksen and Bill and Leslie Greenwood, at the Greenwood home in Central City. A gift reception was hosted by the nurses at Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, KY. A bachelorette weekend hosted by Nancy Beth Carey was given in Gatlinburg, TN. A bachelor weekend given by Brady Williams, Matt Carey, and Kyle Davenport in Tunica, MS. A bridesmaid luncheon was given by Barbara Jones and Penny Stallons at Oakland Manor, Hopkinsville, KY. Lee and Judy Green of Central City served as host for the rehearsal dinner.
