Funeral services for Irene Lewis Rivers, 72, 101 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Cadiz were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Kings Funeral Home.

The Rev. Paul Cannon officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Rivers died at 6 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at her residence following a short illness.

Mrs. Rivers was born February 18, 1937 in Marthaville, La. She was the daughter of the late Norris W. and Maudie Lee Dans Lewis.

Mrs. Rivers attended Canton Baptist Church in Trigg County. She was a homemaker.?In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Otis Lewis, Sr., Merrill Lewis, Huey Lewis, Eaul Lewis and three sisters, Marie Crutchfield, Ruby Windham and Belvie Lewis.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Johnna Rivers, Cadiz, son, Scott Whitaker, Sarepta, La., daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Don Pledger, Timpson, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Trevin Bush, Cadiz, daughter, Kristy Adkison, Cadiz, 12 grandchildren, Kenny Armstrong, Nicole Tatar, Trent Bush, Caleb Bush, Morgan Whitaker, Kevin Pledger, Lacey Whitaker, Griffin Whitaker, Abby Bush, Paige Bush, Whitney Yother, Frank Tatar, and two great grandchildren, Candyce Yother, Caydence Yother.?Serving as pallbearers were Tony Evans, Corey Harrison, Lonnie Killebrew, Tony Tramble, Mike Sadler, and Sean Bush.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Fred Montgomery, Dan Turner and Jim Boren. Betty Oakley, Pianist, provided music.
