It was a sign, we should have stayed on the bus

This week was like most others, kind readers, with just enough action to keep my interest level on the positive side. Saw a good basketball game this week, if I was from the west side of the lakes. Unfortunately from this side of the bridge it looked pretty rough. I jumped on the yellow luxury liner for a nice ride over the bridges to Murray with a very capable Darlene Butts at the wheel. As we got off the bus Coach Mike Wright looked at the sky and said you should get a picture of that just as it opened up. It rained down, up, sideways with some hail thrown in for good measure. Right then we should have reloaded the bus and called the whole thing off. Everything started off normal enough with Trigg behind but playing a good game of catch-up going into the second half down 37-27. Everything started working in the second half with the Wildcats taking a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter. Trigg had a sure win! But something happened. Instead of slowing the game down to a crawl and forcing the Lakers to foul it was a scramble to get points on the board. It wasn’t pretty. Once again the last minute of the 4th quarter was a killer. Calloway’s Tyrell Willis, the hard charging football running back is also a hard charging basketball player. Willis got in the winning shot under the bucket, game over 70-67. Oh yeah, a barge got loose in the storm, hit 2 bridges so it took what seemed like 2 days to get home. Bad trip, except for the food.
