Bro. Rodney Cheatam officiated at the services. Burial followed at the Curling Cemetery in Canton.
Mrs. Hammond died of natural causes at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Hammond was born on Monday, November 20, 1916 in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Robert “Rob” Thomas and Virgie Ellen Holland Curling.
Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Hammond; one son, Steven Hammond; four brothers, Clarence “Jake” Curling, Paul Curling, Tom Curling and Jesse Curling and two sisters, Grace Griffin and Dorothy Bridges.
Survivors include, one sister, Ruby Birdsong of Cadiz; one brother, Ray Curling of Cadiz; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were James Thomas, Wendell Wallace, Bob Gann, Harold Knight, R.C. Kirby and Casey Thomas.
Edith Litchfield, Pianist, provided the music.
