The juror for this exhibit was Professor Laurin Notheisen, of Western Kentucky University.
Notheisen recognized the following with merit awards: Jennifer Fairbanks of Murray $500 for “Woman Holding Teacup” and $250 for “Hands at Rest,” and Leslie Nichols of Bowling Green $500 for “Identity.” Other artists given $250 merit awards were Neli Ouzounova of Bowling Green, Teresa Gemeinhardt, Frances Wells, and Robin Martin-Holmes of Murray, and Willie Rascoe of Hopkinsville.
This marks the fourth time the Janice Mason Art Museum has held this juried show. Entries were accepted in any media from artists in any state that borders Kentucky. Many of these fine artworks are for sale. This exhibit will run through June 19.
The Janice Mason Art Museum is open Tuesdays – Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays 1 – 4 p.m. Evening hours can be arranged for group tours at no charge. Admission is free; donations are greatly appreciated.
Southern Kentucky Independent Theatre and Janice Mason Art Museum are subsidiaries of the Cadiz Community Arts Center. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency supports the Cadiz Community Arts Center with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
