Kentucky’s poet laureate, Jane Gentry Vance, is currently scheduled to give a reading and speak at the museum on Sunday, June 1. Western Kentucky University art professor Kim Chalmers is scheduled to make an appearance on Feb. 17. Board member Vicki Karrigan introduced event planner Aubree Sanders, whom Karrigan invited to help them.
Board President Jean Martin said that tickets were now available for the annual fundraiser, “A Chocolate Affair.” The event will be Feb. 9 at the Fairholme Victorian Home on Main Street and attendees will be able to choose from three time slots to walk through since space is limited. Tickets are $15 and are for 6, 7 and 9 p.m.
Board member Karen Clement asked if it would be cost-efficient to make a banner for the museum entrance to spread awareness about the event. Board members all seemed to agree that it would be because the museum took in $2,664 for the event in 2007 and it cost only $685.
Going over a large calendar on the wall where everyone met in the basement, Martin also took note that annual big band dinner fundraiser would be on March 15.
