Rev. Gary Childress officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Mr. Daugherty died on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 7:45 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.
Mr. Daugherty was born on September 20, 1932, in Harlan, Ky. He was the son of the late James English and Lillie B. Lewis Daugherty.
Mr. Daugherty was a U.S. Navy veteran; was a retired steel worker with Bethlehem Steel Company with 30 years of service; was a volunteer Fireman for 30 years; was an avid fisherman; and was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John L. Saylor, Jess Clifford Saylor, and Tom Quentin Saylor.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jewell Daugherty of Cadiz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick Michael and Cheryl Daugherty of Bellingham, Wash., and Terral and Debbie Daugherty of Kansas, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Edna and Glenn Mashburn of Hopkinsville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Callie B. Martin of Tampa, Fla., Mary Lou and Grant Howard of Tacwell, Tenn., and Nancy Ruth and Frank Sargent of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Earl Saylor of Dexter, Bob Daugherty of Lancaster, Calif., and Gary Daugherty of Liberty; and two grandchildren, Dylan David Daugherty and Kelsey Rose Daugherty.
