Almost two months after the Trigg County Jailer was promised his van from Countryside Motors of Lawrenceburg, Ky., it was finally delivered last week.

The 15-seat Ford Econoline 350 was delivered with a screen separating the passenger compartment from the driver’s area.

"The van was delivered last week and is now on-site,” said County Judge Executive Berlin Moore. “We’ve put in for the official license and currently have a temporary tag on it, so it is usable now.”

Moore added that the van could be used to transport as many as 14 prisoners safely and securely, but could be used for less. “It is not often that we have to transport that many prisoners, thankfully, but sometimes we do. Usually it would be for court appearances and hearings. Of course this is an official vehicle, so we can transport less.”
