Funeral services for James Cave, 71, of Eddyville, were conducted on Sunday, October 1, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville.

Rev. Jack Larwa officiated at the services.

Mr. Cave died on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at 11:20 a.m., at his residence.

Mr. Cave was retired from Research & Development from B.A.S.F. Research in Southfield, Mich.; was a member of Eddyville United Methodist Church; was a Volunteer at Bright Life Farms in Princeton; and was involved with amateur theater.

Mr. Cave was preceeded in death by his parents, Will Austin and Verda Murray Cave.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pherson Cave; two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sheila Urqhart of Taylorsville, and Matt Cave of Louisville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rachelle and John Hoekstra of Louisville; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Dan Polk of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
