Funeral services for James Roy McGee were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at First Street Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.

The Rev. Henry Russell Jr. officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery.

Mr. McGee died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

Mr. McGee was born June 28, 1930 in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Elzee McGee and Caroline Cheatham Wallace.

Mr. McGee was a farmer. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, where he was head of the kitchen committee, trustee and choir member.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lela Bell McGee.

Survivors include five sons; Richard McGee, city, Charles McGee, city, Russell McGee, Colorado Springs, Colo., Terry McGee, city, Dan McGee, city, five daughters; Estell Rose (Mark), city, Peggy McGee, city Loretta McGee, Cadiz, Kim King (Reginald), Jacksonville, N.C., one daughter, Miranda Braxton, city, eight sisters; Margaret Cheatham (Leavell), Cadiz, Emma McGee, city, Alma Quarles (Rev. Richard Quarles), city, Glordean Joiner (Paul) Lavern, Tenn., Martha Mill, city, Brenda McGee (Vallenger), Louisville, Glayds McGee, Killeen, Texas, Patricia McReynolds, Gracey, one brother, Richard McGee, Dallas, Texas and 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
