Mrs. Gilkey died on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 6:05 a.m. at Trigg County Hospital, in Cadiz, of natural causes.
Mrs. Gilkey was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1940, in Owensboro, KY. She is the daughter of the late Vernon Hayes and Laura Mable Davis Nichols.
Mrs. Gilkey was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Lynn Pool, and a grandson, Christopher Wimsatt.
Survivors include one sister, Carol Ann Simpson, of Hopkinsville, one son, Bryan Wimsatt, of Owensboro, two nieces, Donna Pool, of Cadiz, and Anita Simpson, of Hopkinsville, two nephews, Jesse Pool, of Cadiz, and Donald Ray Pool, of Cadiz.
