Funeral services for Jesse D. “Buddy” Wallace, 80, of Chico, Calif., formerly of Trigg County, were conducted on Monday, November 6, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the Brusie Funeral Home in Chico. Burial followed in the Glen Oaks Memorial Park.

Mr. Wallace died on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Townsend House Assisted Living in Chico, of natural causes.

Mr. Wallace was born on February 28, 1922, in Golden Pond, Ky. He was the son of the late Arthur and Gertie Luton Wallace.

Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the European Theater during WWII, culminating in the Battle of the Bulge; received degrees from Murray State University; attended the University of Missouri and the University of Ill.; and was a faculty member at Chico State, teaching in the Industrial Technology Department, 1958-1986.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Virginia Riggins; six brothers, Conley Wallace, Clyde Wallace, Lew Wallace, Joe Wallace, Howard Wallace and Arthur Wallace; and a sister, Etna Dean Fennel.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Helen Wallace; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Gary Bright and Alesia and Albert Bouvet, all of Chico; a son, Dave Wallace of Chico; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jean and Raymond Turner; sisters-in-law, Blanche Wallace and Pat Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews all of Kentucky; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
